NORTHAMPTON COUNTY, N.C. — A 27-year-old man wanted in Georgia was arrested in Northampton County last week, according to the Northampton County Sheriff’s Office.

Sergeant Z. McDuffie arrested Jacob Lee Bryant, 27, on Friday, Sept. 11, on an outstanding warrant from Berrien County, Georgia.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Bryant was wanted in Georgia on charges of terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.

McDuffie served Bryant with a fugitive warrant following his arrest. Bryant was held without bond due to his status as an out-of-state fugitive and was given a court date of Sept. 15 in Northampton County.

Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith commended McDuffie for locating and apprehending Bryant.

The Sheriff’s Office did not provide additional information in its Sept. 18 release regarding the circumstances surrounding the Georgia charges.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
