Halifax County Veterans Invited to Have Their Voices Heard at October Town Hall

Halifax County Veteran Voices Matter

HALIFAX — Halifax County veterans will have an opportunity to share their concerns, ideas and recommendations during an upcoming town hall meeting focused on veterans’ services throughout the county.

The Halifax County Veterans Advisory Board will host its “Veteran Voices Matter” Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse, 10 N. King St. in Halifax.

The meeting is open to all Halifax County veterans, and participants do not have to belong to a veterans organization to attend.

Organizers say the town hall is intended to provide an open forum where veterans can discuss their experiences and recommend improvements to programs, services and community support available to veterans.

Potential discussion topics include VA healthcare and benefits, transportation, employment and education, housing and homelessness, mental health and wellness, veteran and family support, communication and outreach, and veteran programs and activities.

Veterans will also have an opportunity to raise other issues and offer their own ideas and suggestions about how Halifax County can better serve its veteran community.

The Halifax County Veterans Advisory Board is encouraging veterans from across the county and all branches of military service to participate.
