Scotland Neck Police are warning residents to be vigilant following several recent incidents involving HVAC units at homes in town.

According to the Scotland Neck Police Department, HVAC units have been damaged and materials stolen from the units during multiple incidents reported within the past week.

Police are asking residents to remain aware of activity in their neighborhoods, particularly during nighttime and early morning hours, and to report suspicious people, vehicles or other unusual activity.

Investigators are also asking residents with security cameras to review their footage. Anyone who has captured video of people, vehicles or suspicious activity that could be connected to the incidents is encouraged to contact the department.

Police said even footage that may not initially appear significant could potentially assist investigators.

The department said its goal is to identify and apprehend those responsible while preventing additional incidents.

Anyone who observes suspicious activity around their home, a neighbor’s property or elsewhere in Scotland Neck should contact the Scotland Neck Police Department.
