Ausby Surrenders to Law Enforcement in Weldon Murder Case

Jada Jermaine Ausby

A Weldon man wanted in connection with the July shooting death of 38-year-old Moncrinique Clements surrendered to law enforcement Saturday night.

A murder warrant was obtained July 16 for Jada Jermaine Ausby, 26, of Weldon, following a shooting that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. July 11 at Dogwood Park Apartments in Weldon.

Clements died the following day.

On Saturday, Aug. 22, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Ausby surrendered to investigators at the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office.

Ausby was served with the murder warrant and was ordered held without bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Aug. 26.
