A Conway man has been charged with felony secret peeping following a Northampton County Sheriff’s Office investigation into allegations that a victim was secretly recorded with a hidden camera.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies M. Kellett and C. Baker arrested 42-year-old Stanley Ames Anderson on Tuesday, September 8, on an outstanding warrant.
Anderson was served with one count of felony secret peeping. He received a $1,500 secured bond and was given a previously scheduled court date of September 10 in Northampton County.
The charge stems from an investigation led by Lt. Detective M. Deloatch that began July 22 after the victim reported being secretly recorded with a hidden camera.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Deloatch obtained a warrant for Anderson’s arrest on August 18.
Northampton County Sheriff Jack Smith commended Deloatch for his work investigating the case, noting that cases of this nature can have a significant emotional impact on victims and undermine a sense of security within the community.
Anderson is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
