Shauniyah Robinson
An 18-year-old Roanoke Rapids woman has been charged after investigators say she conducted 67 fraudulent transactions while working at a store in the Roanoke Rapids area.
On March 25, deputies with the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office responded to a store on West Tenth Street after the store’s fraud department reported discovering that two employees had allegedly been stealing money from the company.
One of the employees was identified as Shauniyah Robinson, 18, of Roanoke Rapids.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Robinson had been using a fraudulent mobile coupon while purchasing items from the store.
Investigators determined that between January and February 2026, Robinson conducted 67 fraudulent transactions, resulting in a loss of $2,388.50 to the company.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, Detective Sgt. I. Miller arrested Robinson and charged her with obtaining property by false pretenses.
Robinson was given a $5,000 bond and an Aug. 26 court date.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said another arrest is pending.
